Forsythe Jewelers Blog: Your Trusted Jeweler In Pittsford, NY

Hello and welcome to the inaugural installment of the Forsythe Jewelers blog! One of our 2023 resolutions is to whip up a monthly blog entry that will cover an array of topics such as what to expect when ring shopping, the mythology and history that accompany gemstones, various tips and tricks for things like ring sizing and jewelry cleaning, and so much more. My name is Adrienne and I’ve been tasked with getting the party started since I was an English major, so let’s hop into a little Forsythe introduction. Grab your favorite snack or beverage, take a load off your feet, and read on…

Who Is Forsythe Jewelers?

When I interviewed at Forsythe Jewelers in October 2022, I didn’t know what to expect walking in. Being a fresh transplant to the area, I was completely unfamiliar with the store and its Pittsford residence. To be honest, I had a stockpile of specialty retail and not-so-typical customer service experience on my resume, but I had never worked in the jewelry industry specifically so I thought my interviewers would trash my application as soon as I left and promptly move on to the next candidate. As luck would have it, that clearly wasn’t the case because, well, here I am kicking off the Forsythe blog. Please, hold your applause.

I know first impressions aren’t always accurate. We’ve all had at least one instance where we thought someone was spectacular until reality hit and we discovered that wasn’t the case. However, when I tell you that the Wahl family does not fall into that category, I wholeheartedly mean it. I was blown away by them at my interview. The entire family (Susie, Matt, Anders, and Ashley) showed up that day to meet me, despite Susie having the day off and the others having a grocery list of tasks to complete. I was at the store for roughly an hour, but I felt the magic that Forsythe brings to the table within the first ten minutes. Each individual who works at the store is absolutely brilliant, selfless, genuine, passionate, and so loving. They’re also all completely off their rockers, but in the best way possible. Sure, my first impressions of everyone have changed, but only because I have come to know and love my jewelry comrades more with every day that passes. If you want to read a little more about them, check out their bios (and mine!) under the “About Us” tab.

Why Choose Forsythe Jewelers?

You’re probably thinking that we all sound fabulous. I’m here to humbly tell you you’re correct. However, if you really want to witness what we’re like and what we do, you should pop into the store and immerse yourself in the entire Forsythe experience. Not a minute goes by where 1000 different things aren’t happening here. From open to close, we’re rockin’ and rollin’ over here on Monroe Ave. We’re known for our custom creations, gorgeous selection of glittering goodies (including our ever-changing estate cases), in-house repair and appraisal services, and the bowl of luscious caramels that greets everyone front and center. It’s extremely rare for us to say we cannot do something, which is exciting because that means we’re able to show up for and bring positivity to our community on the daily. What’s better than that?

I’ll wrap this up by saying this: there’s a reason Forsythe Jewelers has been around for nearly a century. Everyone here will tell you that the business was built on a foundation of love and family when its doors first opened in 1927. It’s amazing how far those values can take someone or something. I’m so grateful that I have been given the opportunity to be part of an operation that feels somewhat like a glamorous version of Santa’s workshop. From the time of my interview to now, there hasn’t been a day where I’ve walked out of the store feeling unhappy or out of place. I know when you visit us, you’ll feel the same. THAT is the magic of Forsythe.
